The holidays are a wonderful time of year but finding the perfect gifts can be stressful and time-consuming. This time of year gets so hectic that your own self-care is usually tossed aside in favor of focusing on others. Inside this self-care gift guide, you will find my favorite gifts that are perfect for your loved ones, but don’t be afraid to pick up one or two for yourself as well!
If you struggle with prioritizing your own health during the holidays, I have also created a FREE e-mail course called #CelebrateYOU that is entirely focused on helping YOU not get lost in the holiday hustle. The course starts December 3, and you can get more information or sign-up for FREE here.
Self-Care Gift Idea – The Gift of Journaling
It is no surprise that journaling is one of my favorite self-care activities. I also do not believe that there is a limit to the number of beautiful journals one should own. Knowing what to put in your journal pages can be challenging for some though, so that’s why I am a huge fan of my Intentional Journaling method. This blueprint provides an easy to follow and customizable journaling method to help you create a bulletproof self-care routine.
Habits are much easier to create when you have an accountability buddy, so from now until Wednesday, December 20th, when you pick up the WWS Intentional Journaling Blueprint for your friend, I will gift you access to the manual and videos for FREE as well!. In this DIY workshop, you will a 15-page journaling blueprint, five videos on each section of your journal, and access to the WWS private journaling community on Facebook.
The workshop is best gifted with a beautiful and inspiring (or fucking brilliant) journal, and you can find a few of my favorites below.
Self-Care Gift Idea #2 | Yellow Flowers Journal – $8.99
Self-Care Gift Idea #3 | Fucking Brilliant Journal – $9.95
Self-Care Gift Idea #4 | WWS Intentional Journaling DIY Workshop – $37 (BOGO Free until Dec. 20)
Self-Care Gift Idea – The Gift of Better Sleep
Sleep is Queen and poor sleep habits can make the rest of your self-care routine more challenging. Replacing your cell phone as your alarm clock is one of the easiest ways to improve your sleep quality. If you or your gift recipient lives in an area with dreary and dark winters, I also love the added benefits that a light based alarm clock can provide. Add in a high quality lavender and chamomile essential oil spray, and you or your gift recipient will be sleeping like a Queen in no time.
Self-Care Gift Idea #6 – Lavender + Chamomile Aromatherapy Spray – $14.95
Self-Care Gift Idea – The Gift of Meditation
Meditation is increasingly becoming more popular as a self-care activity. It is a fantastic tool for decreasing stress and anxiety, but for newbies, meditation can seem intimidating. Headspace is an easy to use app that provides meditation and mindfulness sessions that can be done from anywhere. A one month or one year subscription to the app is a wonderful way to learn about and develop a meditation practice. For those wanting to create a regular practice, a beautiful meditation pillow will help you look forward to your daily sessions.
Self-Care Gift Idea #8 | Traditional Tibetan Meditation Pillow – $19.99 – $44.98
Self-Care Gift Idea #9 | Aozora Zafu Meditation Cushion – $19.97
Self-Care Gift Idea – The Gift of Nature
Nature is Queen for helping humans feel grounded and calm while providing you everything you need to naturally reduce your stress levels. Especially for city dwellers, planning or gifting a getaway to a more natural environment can be one of the best stress-relieving activities. For US residents, consider gifting an annual pass to the National Parks System, or encouraging your loved to plan their own nature getaway so they can use their new camping hammock or tent.
Self-Care Gift Idea #11 | Newdora Camping Hammock – $16.94
Self-Care Gift Idea #12 | Coleman Sundome 4-Person Tent – $84.99
Self-Care Gift Idea – The Gift of Self-Development + Relaxation
Investing in self-growth and development is one of my favorite self-care activities, but being able to do it in a relaxing and tropical environment takes learning to an entirely new level. Most yoga retreats merge asana classes with relaxation but are missing elements that allow for personal development. Yoga Workshop Retreats is a new concept that incorporates workshops centered around learning and self-development with traditional yoga classes and a lot of down time so that your body still gets much needed love and relaxation. The first set of retreats are taking place in Sri Lanka in July of 2018. The exotic location is also a huge bonus!
If taking a week (or two) off for personal development, yoga, and travel is too much, considering finding any weekend course in your area that interests you or your loved one. Package it with a hotel stay to make your weekend of learning a fully immersive experience void of distraction.
Self-Care Gift Idea – Inspirational Books
If taking a weekend or full vacation for self-development just isn’t possible, books are the next best thing. Books happen to be my favorite stocking stuffer and below are some of my favorite inspirational and informational reads (and one adult coloring book because sometimes you just need to color it out).
Self-Care Gift Idea #14 | Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We…
